Although this has not been officially announced, a simple search of Ticketmaster for Trey Anastasio will tell you that he is scheduled to play the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York on August 7, 2008. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 26 at noon.
If you can't wait for the whole thing to download you can listen to these two new songs that were written by Trey and Tom Marshall and performed for the first time with Mike Gordon this last weekend at Rothbury. (Remember, if you don't have an Imeem account you need to get one if you want to hear more than a 30 second clip.)
Here you go. It was an amazing set. I have a lot more to say about this one. I don't know the quality of the recording because I am downloading it myself as we speak. Enjoy! Trey Rothbury Mediafire
So I'm currently on vacation in Southern California and let me just say, this place is the promised land. Posting will be light for the next week or so but there were a few things that had to be posted.
This has been kind of under the radar but Trey and the TAB will be playing at All Points West on Sunday, August 10th (this is totally sweet considering that our smoothie booth was also just added to APW).
Update: Alright, I guess the article is only a two paragraph tease and we'll have to wait for the next issue of Rolling Stone to read the whole interview, which took place on the same day where the rehabilitating Jedi Master received a reduced sentence and probation for his legal woes. Although I usually think Rolling Stone sucks the butt on most everything, this is one of those times where I'll actually be waiting for the next issue to arrive. This quote might have put a tear in my eye:
“When Phish broke up, I made some comment about how I’m not gonna go around playing ‘You Enjoy Myself’ for the rest of my life,” Anastasio said with a laugh. “And it’s so funny because Fish and Mike and Page have been talking to each other a lot lately and now — it’s not that I can’t believe that I said that, but its symbolic of how much I lost my mind or how much I lost my bearings or something. Because at this point in time I would give my left nut to play that song five times in a row every day until I die. I certainly thought about that while I was in jail.”
I would highly advise anyone who has not heard any of the Disco Biscuits' Spring tour shows to do so IMMEDIATELY. I don't know what happened in the last year, but this band is on freaking fire right now. I got a taste of it at Langerado but I figured it was just an on night; how was I to know that they were on an epic upswing?
Anyways, here's a taste of what level this band is playing at right now. I especially enjoyed the futuristic Bill & Ted-esque riffs Barber plays about 8 or 9 minutes in. I've also added "Glastonbury" from the third Tractor Beam show as a bonus.
Ann Marie Calhoun, who you should remember from her unbelievable, jaw-dropping rendition of Phish's Stash on YouTube, released another tube: the Grateful Dead's "Ripple." I have no idea how she does it but somehow she is able to transform 1970's psychedelic rock into 1870's country-western. Simply amazing.

In case you missed it, the Sonic Bloom Festival will feature Zilla, Lotus, Bassnectar, EOTO, and others. The festival will take place June 19-21 in Winter Park, Colorado.
In order to persuade y'all to pick up Trey's new live album, "Original Boardwalk Style," the Phish pholks have released the track "Plasma" for free. Download it here.

Not only did Phil & Friends play the entirety of the Grateful Dead's first and second albums last night, but Bob Weir sat in for more than a few songs
Speaking of Phil, Coventry's got videos from 5/11/08 at the Greek Theatre in L.A.
Nedfest, which takes place August 22-24 in Nederland, CO, will feature the David Grisman Quintet, Steve Kimock with Melvin Seals & JGB, Praang featuring Steve Kimock, Michael Travis, Jason Haan, & Jamie Janover, Kyle Hollingsworth, New Monsoon, Great American Taxi, and magicgravy.
Trinumeral, which will take place August 8-10 outside Asheville, will feature Galactic, Perpetual Groove, EOTO w/ Michael Kang, Lotus, and Dubconscious, among others.
I've gone ahead and collected the videos of Trey sitting in with the Fab Faux, Phish accepting their lifetime acheivement award, and the Headcount All-Stars' (Jake from Umphrey's Mcgee, Barber and Brownstein from the Disco Biscuits, Joe Russo, and Kyle Hollingsworth from the String Cheese Incident) Phish tribute.

Sidenote: the best part of these videos is that Brownstein is in full Bobblehead mode.
In other Phish-related news, Trey will play a solo acoustic set at the Newport Folk Festival this August.
Alright phanners I finally did it. I made it through the first year of law school.
Although I can't say for certain that I no longer regret going, I definitely regret going a lot less now that the first year is over. As an added bonus, now I have time to re-devote my efforts towards the things that really matter in life: mainly, Phish.
So without further delay...
Trey Anastasio will release "Original Boardwalk Style," which is a live recording of the 11-member Trey Band from 12/30 and 12/31/06 in Atlantic City. Many have referred to these shows as some of the best TAB to date.
Here's the track list: 1. Drifting 2. Plasma 3. Shine 4. Alive Again 5. Mud City 6. Simple Twist Up Dave 7. Tuesday 8. Money, Love and Change 9. Mr. Completely
Exclusive Digital Bonus Track 10. First Tube
I'm kind of disappointed that they only included 10 tracks as opposed to the entire performances. Especially because I remember watching some of the videos from last year thinking that these shows had to be pretty good.

-Live Nation's got a fever, and the only prescription...is more Fillmores!!! (this particular one will be located right outside of D.C.)
-moe.'s also got the Fillmore fever: they added 12/30 at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza (As a side note, I am trying to plan a New York New Year's run with moe. I am reaching out to you, my loyal readers, to help me figure out the details. Where should I fly into? Where should I stay? Please e-mail partyinpeepsblog@gmail.com and help me out!)
Otherwise...
-National Lampoon and Les Claypool will release "Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo" on November 9. This "side-splitting music mockumentary for the massive jam band universe that pokes loving fun at the legacies of cult bands and their fans" features appearances from Bob Weir, Mike Gordon, and Warren Haynes.
-thanks to Ace Cowboy for the cliff's notes for "You Will Make Money In Your Sleep: The Story of Dana Giacchetto," Phish's former money manager who jacked nearly 4 million garlic grilled cheeses (or the monetary equivalent) from the group
-Randy Ray interviewed Trey Anastasio and Tom Marshall a while back...here's part three of his three-part interview
-the "definitive DVD" (whatever that means) of Jimi Hendrix's infamous Monterey Pop Festival performance will be released on October 16
-for you 'net radio nerds: Jango might be your ultimate fantasy of Pandora meets the Facebook. (For more details and a free trial, read THAT TRUNCHEON THING's shpeel of it.) Apparently being a VIB (very important blogger) in Jango's opinion, I was also sent one of these trial memberships. I only fooled around with it for a minute and thought it was alright; the songs seemed repetitive and there was not very much variety. Again, this was only an initial opinion
It has now been three weeks since my last post and to my surprise, I've actually received several complaints about the lack of postings. To those of you who actually visit the site every day I am truly sorry. Here's where I've been...
Guitarmageddon - Dan Lebowitz
Guitarmageddon - Sean Levy String Cheese Incident - 08/12/07 - Red Rocks
And the biggest time-occupier of them all...
Law School.
So while I'm not exactly taking an extended hiatus, I will not have the luxury of posting as often as I would like. Anyways, I've gotta steal part of this week's tube from Hidden Track: Trey's recent guest appearance with Dave Matthews 08/14/07 in Saratoga, New York. While I'm not exactly what you would call a "fan" of the DMB, I do love hearing Trey tear it up. Ace summarizes this video best "It’s a fairly subdued performance, until we reach the five minute mark, when Trey opens it up and takes it to the car wash (presumably to get it waxed, and then air dry that shit)."
This one really got me in the mood for some classic Trey. How about the Harry Hood 11/16/95 West Palm Beach, FL?
Anyone lucky enough to be at the Q & A session with Page McConnell at the High Sierra music festival got to see the Chairman of the Boards play "Army of One," "Strange Design," "Wading in the Velvet Sea," and the outro to "The Squirming Coil" (if anyone has or knows of any footage of this I would GREATLY appreciate a link). Here's "Cars Trucks Buses" from his actual High Sierra performance...
