New this year, Camp Bisco hosted a four-week multi-artist remix contest, powered by Sony Creative Software’s music remixing site ACIDplanet.com and promoted in partnership with Remix Magazine. For the first time, aspiring DJ/producers from around the country had the opportunity to remix top notch artists including the Disco Biscuits, The Orb, Dr. Dog, Telepath and John Brown's Body. Five first place winners and one grand prize winner, The Maniac All-Stars, were selected for the first annual Camp Bisco remix contest. The Maniac All-Stars were selected as the grand prize winner for their "Rebirth" remix of the song "Subterfuge" by live electronica band and Camp BIsco performer, Telepath. The production duo is made up of brothers Antonio "DJ Satisfaction" and Dennis Gonzalez from Philadelphia, PA. The All-Stars are relatively new to Acidplanet joining only this month, but have won several remix contests including VH1's The Score to create the theme song for the 2007 Hip-Hop Honors Show. The Maniac All-Stars win a unique performance opportunity to spin a primetime Friday afternoon set at Camp Bisco between Planet Mu recording artist Starkey and Chicago DJ collective the Orchard Lounge.

Camp Bisco VIII will once again be held at the picturesque Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York. The venue will be set-up with two performance stages and a third late night dance tent. The Indian Lookout Country Club is located approximately 20 minutes travel time from Albany, New York, and sits on 200 acres of rolling, flat grass fields. The grounds come equipped with full bathrooms; which include flush toilets and showers, as well as 24/7 bathroom attendants. Festival goers will have access to a full bar on site and a general store, which sells almost every necessity for a comfortable and care free experience.

Camp Bisco VIII is now releasing a limited number of $75 Saturday-Only tickets, as well as the 3-Day tickets, available for $145 online at www.campbisco.net and 1-800-594-TXX, and at all FYE stores in New England and select outlets in New York state. VIP packages will be made available for an additional $250 per 3 day ticket purchase. Travel packages which include; a ticket to the event, 3 night hotel stay and unlimited shuttle service to and from Camp Bisco will be made available. 15 cents of every ticket sold will be donated to Trees For The Future, an organization that has been the steward of planting trees throughout the world since the early 1970s in an effort to remedy the effects of illegal logging and unsustainable land management systems on the world's developing communities. 50 cents of every ticket sold will be donated to Headcount Cents for Sense, a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization devoted to voter registration and participation in democracy. BE-Green ticket upgrades will also be sold for an additional $2.50. Funds raised by the BE-Green upgrades will be used to offset carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy sources.

after much back and forth we got press and photo pass's to this for a Jambase article, I will take some pictures as well with my non professional cameras (as that was our agreement) supposedly this event is kind of on lock down. and they are very tight with press in there. if you search the internet there are almost no reviews on it. Professional glossy photos by my photographer and a fancy grammatically correct review will be on Jambase. some of my own photos and thoughts will be up here.

Topaz Sullivan Hall: July 3

This show was pretty cool I finally met Joe Russo, and I got tips on working my new D60 from Dino Perucci. See his pictures to see how far I have to go in operating this beast of a machine. I love Southern Rock and fellow Florida boy the Legendary JC's were in the House as the opening act. These guys have so much soul its ridiculous. Thanks Robyn for going with me you are an awesome person to hang out with and hope to see more of you. Topaz was a picture of rock perfection and I always love hearing people say things like "I like jambands" when their leaving Sullivan hall. It's surreal to me cause to me it's all rock. I also saw the vagabond Dead Head (See "Hey Man You Like Jambands?") he was selling cid and I guess has not got on the road yet. Kind of trippy, it was only three days before that odd encounter.

Topaz/Legendary JC's at Sullivan Hall

Here are some good shows coming up in the city at one of my favorite venues, because one of my favorite drummers (Joe Russo) is playingI had to post. ☮ The legendary JC's are a band from Florida! I used to love this soul/funk/gospel group when I lived there and they are really well known down south. They will be playing with Topaz tonight so you have to check them out!

Updated Schedule

Chromeo, previously scheduled to perform on the main stage on Saturday afternoon at 5pm, has moved to the 10:20pm slot on Friday night due to last minute travel conflicts. The performance is now scheduled after a set by the Disco Biscuits, allowing for greater exposure by this burgeoning duo. Break Science, which features Adam Deitch and special guest Alex B of Pnuma Trio, is filling the Saturday afternoon slot. Additional schedule changes include: Ott will join fellow Twisted Records label mates for the Thursday evening Twisted Records All Star Tent and Dr. Fameus' start time is shifting to 5:15pm on Thursday evening. Weather Forecast / What to Bring to Camp Bisco

We have been on site at ILCC for the past 48 hours and the weather couldn't be nicer. Expect highs in the mid 70's during the day with lots of sunshine, and nights in the high 50's. It will be a perfect weekend for camping under the stars, but make sure to come prepared with warm clothing. It won't be unpleasantly hot during the day, but the sun is still strong so make sure to bring sun block.

So I was walking down the street by MSG today and a dude called out to me "hey man do you like jambands?" trained to ignore anyone that yells at you on the street in, I walk for a minute then am like WTF? good guess. I don't really look like a hippie, I'm dressed in strait up work cloths, I have a bit of scruff and my hair is pretty tame. So it turns out it was an older tour rat/carny/dead head, who showed me his Steel your Face tattoo and appealed to me for some dough to catch a train to the next festival/carnival he was working. I told him I was indeed phamily and gave him the 8 bucks he needed. I figure I'm doing my scene a service by putting the money back into the community to people who need it. You come at me out of the blue with "hey man you like jambands?" on the street and it doesn't matter if I'm on my lunch break in work cloths, I'm going to talk to you. Despite what my republican friends say, tour rats are part of the scene and the hipster scene is to square to support wandering ascetics

The Disco Biscuits have announced the line up for the Camp Bisco VIII Late Night Dance Tent. Performances include sets by Twisted Tent All Stars, featuring Simon Posford, Raja Ram and Benjy Vaughn, Shpongle, Pretty Lights, Two Fresh, STS9 live set, and the DFA Disco tent curated by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Pat Mahoney. The dance tent will feature lighting design by Music Matters to enhance the visual experience of the performances.

In addition to their performances, Flying Lotus, Ott and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem will be lending their spinning skills during main stage set breaks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night respectively. The Flying Lotus set will be a precursor to the Disco Biscuits Thursday night headlining slot..

whats up friends, fans and wanderers My roomate can't pay anymore, i have been helping him as much as i can, he is a fellow glass blower. but you can only pay for your buddy so long. its gotten bad so i gotta move on! if anyone wants to move into 710 4th avenue in brooklyn, its three rooms, so the rent is mad cheap like 2000 split between us three.. that makes up for his occasionally annoying friends. i work a 9-5 then party at night so i got my shit together.
