I had not seen this until I wandered over to Jamtopia...pretty out of hand if you ask me.

While most reviews won't be printed until tomorrow and the message boards are mixed, The Weight saw MMJ at RCMH and had their faces melted off.

Ear Candy: My Morning Jacket @ Bonnaroo

Here's a copy of MMJ's Bonnaroo performance. This downloaded from Mediafire at least ten times faster than Sendspace.

First Bad MMJ Bonnaroo Review?
Although I was not at Bonnaroo, I was surprised to read this PopMatters review of MMJ's Bonnaroo performance, which looks nothing short of awesome on paper.
"After slightly wearing down, I finished up my night at My Morning Jacket, who was surprisingly less than stellar this year at Bonnaroo (when usually they have legendary performances here; see 2006 setlist). The songs from their recently released Evil Urges unfortunately don’t fall in place with the rest of their set, therefore creating an inconsistent performance. This is the first time I’ve claimed this in my existence –- but I think the My Morning Jacket kool-aid I’ve been drinking might be slightly wearing off. Let’s wait for the next record before I jump too far ahead of myself."
My Morning Jacket - 6/14/08 - Bonnaroo Late Night Set
Set I: Evil Urges, Off the Record, Gideon, Hot Fun (Sly & the Family Stone)* , Highly Suspicious, What a Wonderful Man, I'm Amazed, Thank You Too, Touch Me Pt 1, Sec Walkin, Golden, Two Halves, Laylow, Hit it and Quit it (Funkadelic), Tyrone (Erykah Badu), Steam Engine - with drum solo, Anytime, Aluminum Park, Easy Morning Rebel*, Dancefloors*, One Big Holiday**
Set II: Cold Sweat (James Brown)*, Get Down On It (Kool and the Gang)* , Across 110th Street (Bobby Womack & Peace)*, Phone Went West, Mahgeetah, Oh Sweet Nuthin (Velvet Underground), Librarian, Bermuda Highway#, Dondante, Run Thru, Smokin from Shootin, Touch Me Pt 2, Home Sweet Home (Mötley Crüe)$
* w/Jeff Coffin on saxophone and the Nashville/Louisville Horns
** w/Kirk Hammett of Metallica
# Jim Solo

'roo Artist Additions and Late Night

Bonnaroo had a pretty good round of artist additions today: The Disco Biscuits, Zappa Plays Zappa, Cat Power, MSTRKRFT, and Chromeo. Had these recent additions been in the initial announcement I may have considered attending at the time.
Bonnaroo has also announced that My Morning Jacket and Phil Lesh will play late-night sets at the main stage, which will be in addition to their traditional late-night tent sows.
Don't get me wrong; I'm still not going...
See you at Rothbury (which sold out their early bird tickets in about a half hour this morning.)

My Morning Jacket: Live From Your Cell Phone
My Morning Jacket introduced a really cool way of making a video of their Lollapalooza performance today: a collage of fan videos from the performance (it would be even sweeter if MMJ went on tour again sometime soon, but for now this will have to do).-check out official Bonnaroo video highlights
-SIRIUS' "Jam On" station will take a one week hiatus to preview the new Grateful Dead channel
-?uestlove sounds off after being denied D.J. honors at his high school reunion
-Ryan Adams will play more Fall dates
-Stewart Copeland will release his own Anthology

WeTube Wednesdays
So I was playing around on YouTube today and was having too much fun to limit this week's WeTube Wednesday to one video. Here's a couple of good one's...
First off, this is pretty sweet: a dude with no arms who plays Tom Petty's "Last Dance With Mary Jane" on the guitar better with his feet than I could with my arms...
Next is My Morning Jacket's "One Big Holiday" from last year's Bonnaroo. I missed this one watching a killer Umphrey's set and a pretty good Disco Biscuits set at the other tent...
Here's a Neil Young classic - "Powderfinger" - check out the size of the amps!
Finally, Umphrey's playing "JaJunk" to close out their first night's performance at last weekend's Summer Camp festival - the sound quality's not great but you can feel the energy from the end of this set...a great (and not muddy or wet) memory...
And speaking of Summer Camp, here's another Summer Camp attendee who got their review up before me...thanks for showing me up Hidden Track.
