RJD2 @ the Crowbar Ybor City- Tour Dates

A writer friend of mine is down there at the show, and should come back with some good pictures we will toss around to magazines and keep on the site. the report so far... From what I hear it is best to stay away from this The Crowbar in Tampa (if you happen to unfortunately end up there in the first place. Their sound system is shitty and bartenders very uncooperative with dispensing drinks. My writer wasn't the only one who felt this way.

RJD2 played my college Eckerd a while back, meanwhile he is currently promoting his new album The Colossus. Marking the 10th year of his career, the album showcases the different styles RJD2 has spanned as a, respected producer for himself and others. Collaborating with emcees, vocalists, and various instrumentalists, it displays an urgency and sophistication rarely seen. Weaving together his trademark rock solid drums, soulful vibes and horns, samples, and anything else available, the album is a kaleidoscopic look both forward and back. Part Impressions, part Daft Punk, part Thin Lizzy. He is helped along by vocalists Kenna (Star Trak), Phonte Coleman (Little Brother), Aaron Livingston, (The Roots’ ’Guns Are Drawn’), as well as several underground emcees and horns, woodwind, and strings. A sound to behold.
IF your in the Tampa Bay St Pete area you may want to check out what the zombie invasion is all about with the new book Zombie St Pete.
