Two bands to check out at Sullivan Hall this weekend:

The Macpodz have made their way from festival to festival throughout the summer, rocking the stages at Mountain Jam, Rothbury, 10K Lakes, and many more. They always bring their own brand of “Disco Bebop” with them, proving it to be true that, as they say, you can dance to Jazz… again.

This weekend, they are stopping at Sullivan Hall in Greenwich Village. They kicked off an ass-kicking summer back in May at the same venue, and it seems fitting that as the summer comes to an end, they’re back to do it again! Check out this electrified jazz quintet from Ann Arbor, Michigan, along with another artist I admire, Zach Deputy.

Deputy is a one-man-band touring in support of his July release, “Sunshine”. And he really has a “sunshiny” attitude about life: On his drive up to record this album, his truck that contained ALL of his equipment and clothes was stolen... He forged on and made it happen anyway. The outcome? Some delightful “Dance music for the soul.”
