All Good and 10klf lineups: meh

Maybe I've just seen this exact same lineup too many times. Let's just say I could be more excited the initial lineups for the All Good and 10,000 Lakes Festivals.

From All Good's website:
Phil Lesh & Friends, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Keller Williams and the WMD'S, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Railroad Earth, Tea Leaf Green, The Bridge, Hot Buttered Rum, RAQ, Bonerama, Pnuma Trio, The Wood Brothers, Bassnectar...

From 10,000 Lakes' website:
Phil Lesh & Friends, The Flaming Lips, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Mickey Hart Band feat. Steve Kimock & George Porter Jr., Slightly Stoopid, Dark Star Orchestra, Panjea with Michael Kang, JJ Grey & MOFRO, New Mastersounds, Everyone Orchestra, Cornmeal, WBPN, The Hue, and over 40 more acts to be announce...

It's nice to see Phil in a bunch of headlining spots. It just seems like the festival scene's a little saturated this year. Literally you could do a major festival every weekend from SXSW in May until Coachella East in August. Anyway, it just seems like the festival tour is replacing the band tour and I'm not so sure where I stand on that. On one hand it's nice to be able to catch 10 acts in one day and not have to worry about driving anywhere that night. On the other hand, festivals are expensive (and only getting pricier) and can be a major hassle between lines to get in, lines to use the bathroom, and anything else that associated with 50,000 people congregating in a really big field somewhere.

I just hope that this trend doesn't spawn off a new trend of major acts abandoning traditional nationwide Summer tours in favor of the festival circuit. I love festivals, but most of the time I just want to see one or two acts in a night for $20 and not deal with the rest of the hassle. I don't think I'm alone...

[EDITOR'S NOTE: I guess I'm being a little bit harsh on All Good. Solid Lineup. I would go. 10klf is still a major disappointment though. I can't stand the Flaming Lips. Why would anyone want to sit through their geeked out lead singer rambling incoherently with a camera pointed up his nose? He just talks. They don't even play music half the time! I mean they have kind of cool special effects but come on people we can demand better! I would rather see Lotus as the headliner than the Flaming Lips. At least they can make music. That wasn't sarcastic either. Lotus is awesome.]

Lotus was the worst band at 10k. It's bland techno that goes no where. You think the lips suck, but guess what show everybody at the festival went to?
