Flash Light: Camp adds P-Funk, TLG

Summercamp just announced the addition of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, G Love & Special Sauce, Tea Leaf Green, Clutch, Blind Melon, and others (in addition to STS9's addition earlier this week.)

This festival is just getting better! I've never had the opportunity to catch George Clinton but I have been a fan of the Afro-nauts longer than the rest of the lineup. I'm also glad to see Tea Leaf Green's addition - they played a great Thursday night pre-party set last year and just have so much potential; it's always great to catch them play.

Mike Gordon Sits In With RAQ

Local hero Mike Gordon made a guest appearance with RAQ when they played their hometown of Burlington, Vermont last Friday 02/08/08. You can stream or download the soundboard recording here,

Personally I've been getting really into this band lately (anyone that repeatedly covers KISS is alright in my book). If you haven't already you need give their 12/31/06 Charlotte show some airtime.

STS9 Added to Summercamp, Wakarusa

From STS9's website:

"STS9 are excited to announce a pair of shows on May 16 & 17 at HOUSE OF BLUES in HOLLYWOOD, as well as festival plays at ROTHBURY in MICHIGAN, WAKARUSA in KANSAS and SUMMERCAMP in ILLINOIS. Check all the links for all the details and keep an eye out for tickets for Hollywood going on sale ASAP!"

In my opinion Summercamp 2008 is going to be a great festival. With moe. headlining all three nights and two nights of Umphrey's (my guess), you are guaranteed what you want at night and given the freedom to discover new music throughout the day and late night.

For those of you on the fence, this might be the deal-breaker. For me, it's just upping the anticipation.

Rothbury Festival

This is my first post in a while. I plan on making a full return. I just caught the lineup for the inaugural Rothbury Festival taking place July 3-6 in Rothbury, Michigan. I guess this is the fest that people were saying Phish was going to reunite at. Oh well, the lineup looks amazing. After the Echo Project I am a big fan of this type of festival...especially with the inaugural year lineup!
