Support This Restaurant!

So a bunch of angst-filled and emotionally unstable My Chemical Romance fans have been making death threats to the owner of Glenn Gormley's Green Leafe Cafe after My Chemical Romance and Muse got salmonella poisoning after eating there and were forced to cancel a few shows.

I don't know about all of you out there, but I think we should all support this restaurant and its efforts to reduce noise pollution by declaring chemical warfare on My Chemical Romance. Maybe I wouldn't eat the food from this place, but I might just buy something and throw it out and I implore all of you out there to do the same.

Announcement of the Week

Today has been a pretty busy day; but this one tops them all. Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits announced the nitty gritty of their Carribean Holidaze Festival taking place this winter from December 13-17 in Jamaica.

Here's some of the awesomeness
-Umphrey's Mcgee (3 Nights)
-the Disco Biscuits (3 Nights)
-Keller Williams (2 Nights)
-the Benevento Russo Duo (2 Nights)
-the Brain-Damaged Eggmen (Umphrey's / Bisco supergroup that covers Pink Floyd and the Beatles)
-capped at 800 people spread across 400 rooms
-Sweet packages (that include all you can drink)

The downside: expensive as all hell. This is now number one on my wish list. Wow oh wow. If there is a god out there, please enable me to attend.

10,000 Lakes Schedule Available

The 10KLF schedule was released today.

Frankly, I found it a little underwhelming (though not as underwhelming as the ACL lineup).

Looks like I'll be seeing the Disco Tribe Incident in Berkeley!

Showeroo!

So here's an unexpected plus side of the continual corporatization of Bonnaroo: showers.

Hidden Track Reviews moe.'s tenure at the Highline

Check out Hidden Track's moe.ments of brilliance, moe.ments of boredom; a review of moe. 5/2/07 at the new Highline Ballroom in New York. In my opinion the article is dead on; I love moe. 90% of the time but there's always the risk of a really boring show or at least a few really boring minutes.

Personally I would have rather seen moe. 5/5/07 at the Highline Ballroom. Check it out for yourself here.

Austin City Limits Lineup

The 2007 Austin City Limits Festival, taking place from September 14-16, has announced its initial lineup. Highlights include Bob Dylan, Bjork, the White Stripes, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Wilco, Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, STS9, Ziggy and Stephen Marley, Yo La Tengo, JJ Grey and MOFRO, Railroad Earth, Robert Earl Keen, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, LCD Soundsystem, and the School of Rock All-Stars. Click here for the full lineup.

The festival in my opinion seems pretty alright; I would go if given the opportunity but doubt that its in the cards.

UPDATE:

So I was checking out Hidden Track's take on the ACL Festival and apparently the Ace Cowboy in all of his infinite wisdom believes that "If anyone had that same ol’ feeling of ambivalence before today, it’s time to figure out what you want out of life, and if the answer doesn’t involve a kickass festival with hundreds of rock stars in one of America’s favorite cities, then by gosh, I don’t even wanna know you. There’s no “on the fence” after this announcement."

Damn...I guess we now stand on opposite sides of the fence Ace Cowboy.

WeTube Wednesdays

It's a beautiful Wednesday in Kentucky and I'm headed off to the gorge...

Before I go here's a clip - Umphrey's Mcgee - Partyin' Peeps - Fuji Rock Festival 7/30/06.

It starts off a little slow but gets nasty there at the end; enjoy!

Sonic Bloom 2007

I guess I'm a little late on this one, but wow!

Sonic Bloom 2007
will take place this year from June 21-23 in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado.

The lineup includes Zilla, STS9, Bassnectar, EOTO, and others; click here for the full lineup.

Saxton,
the guy who does STS9's jaw-dropping light shows "will not only be dropping a visual symphony of light on his boys during their PA set, but will continue to stick around high country all weekend long & serve as Sonic Bloom 2007’s resident LD."

Larry Campbell: Rock 'n' Roll's Right Hand Man

Here's a pretty sweet Jambands.com interview with Larry Campbell. I don't care who you are, but you've just got to love this guy...

Kinda Funny Mock Trey Arrest Interview

This article is pretty stupid, but good for a chuckle...

Pearl Jam: Live at the Gorge

According to Billboard "Pearl Jam has boxed up three complete concerts held at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash., over the past two years for the aptly named release "Live at the Gorge 05/06." The seven-disc collection will arrive June 26 via the band's own Monkeywrench label.

"Live at the Gorge" rounds up shows from Sept. 1, 2005, and July 22-23, 2006, and features 76 different songs..."

This sounds totally sweet; I just hope it isn't as pricey as certain other box sets I've been meaning to get my hands on.
